When should I skip a task?
You may want to skip a task when:
- The Instructions do not cover specific edge cases or scenarios that you encounter.
- The Instructions are unclear and/or not specific enough.
- The Labels on the annotation platform don’t match the Labels listed in the instructions guide.
How do I skip a task?
- Select the Skip task button in the navigation bar (bottom right).
- Select a reason for skipping.
- Add additional information to give the feedback more context.
- Select the Submit button.
What happens after I skipped a task?
If there are common errors found from the skipped task, the clients may update the project’s instructions accordingly. If you are working while the client updates the instructions, you will see a popup notifying you.

If you happen to not be working when the instructions are updated, you will not see this popup. You'll need to click Start Work and read the Instructions to see if there have been any changes made.
Will I get paid for the tasks I have skipped?
No, you will not be paid for skipped tasks. In the event that you have created some annotations on a task before skipping it, the annotations will be automatically removed. If you are unsure about the instructions for a task, we recommend skipping it before you’ve completed any work on the task.
I accidentally skipped a task. Can I get the task back?
No. Once a task is skipped, this action is irreversible.
Can a skipped task be sent back to the agent who skipped it after the feedback has been answered?
No. Skipped tasks are released back to the pool the first time they are skipped. This is to account for the times when an agent might not have the same understanding of the instructions as the majority. In this scenario, the task may be successfully processed by the next agent. However, if it is skipped again, then it will be flagged and no longer returned to be worked on.
I have used up my skip tasks allocation. What should I do if I am unsure about a task?
You may get help from other annotators on the project’s Discord channel.
When will I get a new allocation of skip tasks?
Every 24 hours from midnight (in your local timezone).
I did not use all my allocated skips yesterday. Will the remaining skips be added to my allocation tomorrow?
No, skips refresh daily at midnight (in your local timezone). Every user will receive 5 new skips per day.
